How to be optimistic.

Spread the love

There are two kinds of people: the optimistic and the pessimistic. Pessimists think they are usually right. But if humanity has gotten this far, it owes it to the optimists.

Karl Popper, 1902-1994, Anglo-Austrian philosopher

Optimistic lifestyle and thinking is the key to personal and professional success and happiness. It is a fact that optimistic people tend to be healthier, achieve their goals more easily and face the difficulties and obstacles with a smile.

So how do you become more optimistic?

1. Wake up with your favorite song and do the morning routine or housework with it!

2. Start your day by thinking about all the things you are grateful for, starting with the fact that you have your eyesight and you can see the beauty around you. Not everybody has it.

 3. Make a positive wish for the outcome of the day.

4. Give at least one smile to a person you see (it could be a loved one or a stranger). It’s contagious!

5. Become more “sensitive” to the perception of all the beautiful things that are happening around you. Don’t let them go; notice them, stay in the moment, become one with them. I remember my father telling me that there are three kinds of people: the man who is in a hurry and doesn’t notice even the sunset; the man who will pass, will look at it and leave, and the man, who will see it and will stay to admire it. The third person is the most complete and happy.

6. Live in the now, stop performing daily routines automatically, mechanically, but try to do them each time as if for the first time, following a different way or putting a different element.

7. Get rid of negative thoughts! Once you realize that a negative thought has occupied your mind, change it on the spot to a positive one or think of something that makes you happy!

8. It would be good to avoid contact with negative people, who only talk about problems. Negative thinking is also contagious.

9. Remove the word “don’t”, from your vocabulary and try to articulate your speech by giving it a positive tone.

10. In every negative event, try to find a positive element or some opportunity that may arise.

11. Once you lie down to sleep, list all the good things that happened to you during the day, from the smallest to the biggest!

12. Visualize the next day positively. Imagine, that all the planned and non-planned work is done in the best possible way!
